A woman who was hit by her own car Monday evening has died.
The Luzerne County coroner said Denise Polinchak, 55, of Wilkes-Barre died Tuesday.
Police said Polinchak called for help after having car trouble in a parking lot in Plains Township. A tow truck driver tried to back the car out of the parking space with the driver's side door open. The door struck Polinchak. She was taken to the hospital where she later died.
Sgt. Abraham of the Plains Township Police identified the tow truck driver as Robert Wickham, 55, of Dallas. Abraham said Wickham showed signs of being under the influence of alcohol, so police arrested him and took him for a blood test. So far, no charges have been filed.
Plains Township Police said their investigation is continuing.
