Furloughed Firefighters Returning
WILKES-BARRE — Firefighters who were furloughed because of budget problems in Wilkes-Barre are headed back to work.
Officials said that six of the firefighters returned to work Friday. The remaining five will be back on the job by Monday.
Wilkes-Barre’s mayor said last month that because of increased taxes, they were able to bring back the furloughed firefighters.
They were laid off in November because of budget problems in the city.
