Eleven People Displaced after Fire | News

HAZLETON — A fire that sent a woman and a firefighter to the hospital is under investigation in Luzerne County.

The fire started around 11:30 a.m. on Sunday at an apartment home on North Cedar Street in Hazleton.

One woman was home at the time. She was rescued from the home and taken to the hospital for breathing in too much smoke.

A firefighter was also treated for a cut on his face.

A spokesperson from Red Cross said they are helping the eight adults and three kids that lived there.

The fire chief believes the fire started upstairs.

A fire marshal is looking for the cause of the fire.
