Five was a significant number for the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins on Saturday night. The Penguins defeated the St. John’s IceCaps 5-3, picking up their fifth straight win in front of a packed Mohegan Sun Arena at Casey Plaza.

Simon Despres, Warren Peters, Dylan Reese, Benn Ferriero, and Riley Holzapfel put the puck past IceCaps goaltender Eddie Pasquale, who suffered his seventh loss of the season. Penguins goaltender Jeff Zatkoff picked up his tenth win of the year, stopping thirteen of sixteen shots.

The Penguins were successful on one of six power play opportunities, while the IceCaps went scoreless with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton shorthanded.
