The City of Wilkes-Barre Department of Public Works announces the following schedule for street cleaning in the city:

STREET CLEANING SCHEDULE

Monday, August 30 (Mayflower Section): Almond Lane, Dana Street (from Empire Street to Sherman Street), East South Street (from Empire Street to Park Avenue), Empire Street (from Stanton Street to East South Street), Howard Street (from South Meade Street to Sherman Street), Joseph’s Lane, Kent Lane, Lehigh Street (from Sheridan Street to Park Avenue), Moyallen Street (from Empire Street to Sherman Street), Sheridan Street, Sherman Street (from Stanton Street to East South Street), South Meade Street (from Moyallen Street to East South Street), Stanton Street (from Empire Street to Sherman Street)

In order for the street sweeper and DPW crews to clean the streets effectively, it is imperative that residents move their vehicles from city streets by 8:00 a.m. on their designated street cleaning day.  If sweeper crews cannot access streets because of parked cars, these streets will not be cleaned until the next scheduled cleaning day.  Tickets will be issues to all unmoved vehicles.  This information, along with color-coded maps, can be found on the City of Wilkes-Barre’s website.
