New Year's Eve Party Preps | News
As the clock ticks down on 2010 final arrangements are being made to New Year's Eve celebrations across the area.
Preparations are underway at the Woodlands just outside of Wilkes-Barre for one of the biggest party nights of the year. The hotel is already sold out, but there is plenty of room left to party with a thousand others ringing in the new year.
"We have Go Go Gadget playing on our stage. It will be fun, Mike the Godfather deejaying that night, between 700 and 1,000 people depending on the weather. This year we expect a beautiful night," said Mitch Kornfeld of The Woodlands.
In downtown Wilkes-Barre not only will partiers be able to celebrate 2011, but also the area's newest Irish pub. Mulligans on South Main Street will open its doors for the first time at 8 p.m.
Just a few blocks away, hundreds will fill the grand ballroom at Genetti's, a traditional New Year's Eve hot spot.
"Balloon drop, champagne toast and a breakfast buffet at 2 a.m. so for our guests with late night munchies they can enjoy that. A great night overall," said Lindsay Griffin of Genetti's.
Come New Year's Eve the giant dance floor will be packed with up to 400 people rockin' out to live music. The folks at Genetti's said they are expecting a sell out.
There are still a few rooms left here, but reservations are going fast. For those looking for a good time Friday night, it's best to book now.
